Each visit, Dr. Cooper will scan your spine to check the slight temperature differences from side to side. These temperature differences indicate EXACTLY where nerve pressure is (inflammation or swelling due to a misalignment in your spine putting pressure on that particular nerve). This allows Dr. Cooper to be very specific when deciding which bone(s) to adjust, and after the adjustment it shows whether the correction was made and your body is adapting and healing.
From the moment Dr. Cooper meets you as you walk through the door, she is taking note of your posture—body leaning, head turn/tilt, shoulder alignment, hip alignment, gait (walking posture), foot position, arm swing, and more! All these postural changes can tell Dr. Cooper a lot about how your body is adapting to the alignment in your spine and extremities.
Full Spine X-rays

Full Spine X-rays
These images reveal how much stress has been placed on specific areas of your spine. That stress can contribute to conditions such as arthritis, degenerative joint or disc disease, compression fractures, whiplash injuries, and more.
Because no two spines are the same, full-spine X-rays provide detailed insight into each person’s unique alignment. Dr. Cooper carefully analyzes every X-ray to determine the precise positioning of your hips and spine, allowing her to deliver highly specific and accurate adjustments.

Palpation is just a fancy word for “feeling” an area using the hands.
Dr. Cooper receives valuable information by feeling for areas of nerve pressure, swelling, heat, restriction, skin changes, and more. This helps Dr. Cooper determine exactly how your spine has misaligned and the precise adjustment that needs to be provided.

Understanding what the patient is feeling and the types of symptoms they are experiencing can help Dr. Cooper determine which areas of the spine the nerve pressure may be coming from.
Symptoms can help distinguish between the two parts of the Autonomic Nervous System (Sympathetic and Parasympathetic) and guide Dr. Cooper in applying a specific adjustment.
